The Mihai Vodã Church, founded in 1629, is one of the few dozens churches whose original location was changed when the new Civic Centre was built in the 1980s. Initially, the church was situated on the Spirii Hill, where a secondary princely court was erected in the second half of the 18th century. Nowadays, the church is located in the vicinity of the Parliament Palace. With its alternating brick and carved stone decorations, the outside of the church is very sober. The façade is decorated with stained glass. The gate frame is in the typical Brâncoveanu style. The interior frescoes were painted in 1930. The altar was made of carved wood.
